INDUSTRIES WE SERVE

Management of contaminated sites, refineries and other petroleum waste generators has become a major environmental issue. The worldwide environmental awareness has corresponded to new laws and regulations governing all aspects of waste storage, treatment and disposal. Bans on the disposal of contaminated soil and petroleum waste in landfills and seas have inspired the development of a permanent solution for this problem.

RLC Technologies, Inc. has developed and successfully presented on the World market its Anaerobic Thermal Desorption Unit (ATDU), which has the capability of treating the following materials:

  • Crude oil tanker bottom's and other marine waste
  • Oily sludge
  • Tank bottom's
  • Refinery waste
  • Drill cuttings
  • Contaminated filter cakes
  • Polyaromatic hydrocarbon's (PAH's)
  • Polychlorinated biphenyl's (PCB's)
  • Pesticides
  • Trichloroethane (TCE)
  • Perchloroethene (PCE)
  • Other chlorinated organic compounds
  • Other contaminated materials & waste
By offering ATDU plants Worldwide RLC Technologies, Inc. works to help its clients meet objectives of treating their waste streams. Our state-of-the-art proven system technology enables our equipment to meet and exceed the clean-up criteria in the client's country Worldwide. Our current worldwide presence (plants sold) lists major oil producers and remediation facilities, including locations in the World's biggest seaports and oil centers.

1) Marine Waste

Stationary ATDU designed complete with vapor recovery skid for processing a wide range of oily refinery sludge and heavy tank bottoms received by the customer at their facility. ATDU was installed and operated at a central marine waste reception and treatment facility at a major port and shipping center located in the heart of the Southeast Asia.

2) Refinery Waste

Major refiners in North America and in selected regions around the world have taken major steps to treat their oily waste streams in order to meet a varying degree of disposal restrictions. ATDU process is often the most effective technology that can effectively process and safely remove elevated levels of hydrocarbons from oily waste matrices. RLC Technologies superior design allows for placement of the Company’s ATDU systems within refinery perimeters while conforming to the latest EU mandated ATEX Directives.

Oil & Gas Drilling Waste

An ever-increasing environmental protection laws are being mandated throughout the world by the oil producing countries designed to protect the immediate environments surrounding the oil and gas exploration drilling platforms. RLC Technologies ATDU systems have demonstrated to be an effective technology for decontamination of the cuttings while recovering the oil content for reuse or disposal.

4) RCRA Hazardous Waste Recycling Treatment Facility

With greater emphasis on waste recycling for beneficial reuse and stringent MACT guidelines for thermal destruction of RCRA, TSCA and CERCLA regulated wastes, ATDU offers an excellent technical and regulatory alternative to traditional waste treatment and disposal for those waste streams that can be beneficially recycled for reuse.

5) Soil Remediation

ATDU’s unique ability to efficiently volatilize a wide range of chlorinated and polyaromatic hydrocarbon contaminants in reduced oxygen atmosphere, virtually eliminates waste oxidation that can result in generation of secondary undesired by-products such as dioxins and furans. ATDU has been selected as the preferred soil remediation technology for effective processing of PCBs and chlorinated hydrocarbon contaminated soils at a former industrial site. ATDU offers ease of permitting and a greater degree of public acceptance by the stakeholders including the public and the regulatory communities.
